Familiarity with common computer software and data systems is also important.
In this role, you will assist the Classroom Teacher in delivering a comprehensive child development program. You’ll help maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing learning environment and ensure active supervision of children at all times. You’ll participate in planning and implementing curriculum, collecting observations, and supporting screenings, assessments, and goal setting. You will help foster strong relationships with families, support disability services, and provide individualized care, including assistance with feeding and toileting. When needed, you’ll take the lead in the classroom and engage in professional development, teamwork, and committee participation to support effective center operations. Flexibility and collaboration are key as you help meet the unique needs of the children, families, and Head Start program.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Level I: Have a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or, are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire. 
Level II: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development.
Experience
Experience as a staff or volunteer in a preschool classroom.
Required License and/or Certifications:
• Register with Idaho STARS and participate in the professional development system.
• Maintain current Infant/child & Adult CPR and First Aid.
• Pass an enhanced background check including fingerprinting, as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing requirements, prior to first day of work.
Starting pay range: $17.40 - $18.42
Work Site Location: Head Start - Fernwood
Work Schedule: 75% Full-Time, August to June
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.
