Overview of the position:

The Senior Officer, Employer Services is responsible for supporting the operations of the Employer Services team within DeakinTALENT.

The position plays a key role in supporting the coordination and delivery of Employer Services’ workshops, programs and related projects; as well as providing recruitment and shortlisting support and administration. The Senior Officer will provide operational management of the student talent pool, including communicating with candidates and providing employability development support. 

The role will work closely with the Employer Services team to identify suitable candidates for job opportunities. The position acts as the connection between the wider Graduate Employment team to ensure employable candidates are matched with relevant vacancies.

 

As a Senior Officer you will:

  • Draw on a diverse range of team members and resources to identify new or improved opportunities, processes and ways of doing things to enhance the team’s strategy.
  • Establish and demonstrate a high level of learning, energy and commitment and maintain personal integrity and make decisions consistent with University values.
  • Promote technical solutions to modernise work practices and ensure alignment with Deakin’s and Graduate Employment’s strategic direction.
  • Plans and prioritises work and critical activities appropriately and recognises barriers to achieving outcomes, finds effective ways to deal with them and evaluates progress.
  • Challenge existing processes by formulating creative and inclusive alternative solutions and benefits.
  • Be involved in the promotion and support of DeakinTALENT projects and initiatives

               

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Completion of a degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Prior experience in candidate management and development, either in an agency and/ or internal recruitment environment.
  • Experience in project support and delivery
  • Exposure to communication planning and delivery
  • Experience in the organisation and support of events, would be desirable
  • Working with Children’s Check (Employee) or willing to obtain.
