Job Summary
  • Serve as the student face of the Career Center and promote services, resources and events to the campus community by tabling at events such as Titan Walk
  • Help review student resumes and cover letters and provide feedback
  • Assist with maintaining social media outlets including TicTok and Instagram
  • Provide support at career fairs and large-scale events
  • Interact and engage with alumni & employers at fairs, events, information sessions and workshops
  • Assist with career education workshops to the campus community 

Each TCA will have a focus area for the majority of their work at the Career Center.

All TCAs:

  • Serve as the student face of the Career Center and promote services, resources and events to the campus community.
  • Share Career Center resources with peers in a variety of ways
    • Classroom presentations
    • Tabling on Titan Walk
    • Conducting Career Center Tours
    • Representing the Career Center at various campus events

In addition to the duties listed above, each TCA will be hired with a specialty. Please clearly indicate which position(s) you are interested in in your cover letter.

TCA for Marketing & Social Media (1-2 students)

  • Maintain a consistent and topical posting schedule with content that aligns with Career Center and TCA program goals
  • Assist with creating a content calendar related to CC events and professional development topics
  • Assist Career Center staff with topic areas to showcase on social media
  • Assist with social media efforts to introduce CC staff to students
  • Assist with short-form educational content on topics like job and internship search, career fair preparation tips, networking, LinkedIn and more (we will train on the given topics)
            •  

Outreach & Student Events (2-3 students)

  • Assist Career Center Events Specialist to plan, prepare, and execute large-scale Career Center events
  • Assist with events and outreach campaigns to connect the campus community to the Career Center staff and resources
  • Communicate with Career Fair Sponsors 
  • Assist with event/workshop evaluations
  • Classroom presentations
  • Assist with tabling schedule
            •  

Higher Education, Counseling & Admin (1-2 students)

  • Learn best practices for Resume and Cover Letter Review and support CSUF peers on a drop-in basis in the Career Center Drive Thru
  • Assist with planning TCA team meetings for updates, points of connection, and professional development
  • Assist CSUF campus partners to plan and execute collaborative events
  • Events and HE TCAs work together for event-based collaborations
        •  

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Only Federal Work Study-Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
