Mondays through Fridays; 8:00am - 5:00pm
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, the student assistant assists with daily operations at Digital Print Services (DPS) by completing tasks, including but not limited to:
Answer phones and assisting customers
Assist DPS staff with preparation, printing, and offline finishing of orders
Shrink wrapping completed orders
Deliver completed items to customers on campus
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Desire to work with technology. The ability to multitask and take direction with a can-do attitude is a must for this position. Being on time and working collaboratively with a team are crucial to this position. Previous IT experience is not required but is a plus. Customer service experience and basic phone etiquette will be considered a plus. The candidate must have experience with the following Microsoft products: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and communicate well with all levels of personnel with an excellent customer-oriented mindset.
Successful candidate must possess excellent phone, verbal, and written communication skills.
Candidate must be able to interact professionally with users, co-workers, and supervisors.
Background Check
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
