About the Role
As a DevOps Service Specialist, you’ll embed engineering excellence into our Core Data Platform team, ensuring operational stability and enabling continuous improvement. This is a hands-on technical role with exposure to service delivery and partner management—perfect for someone looking to grow into people leadership.
You will work closely with our off-shore providers, supporting partners, planning activities, coaching on systemic skills gaps, providing governance and assurance oversight, and applying technical and environmental expertise to ensure optimal outcomes for Suncorp
What You’ll Do
- Drive operational stability by embedding DevOps practices into the Service Delivery team for our Core Data Platform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions to uplift engineering discipline and automation.
- Collaborate with managed service partners and internal squads to resolve incidents and deliver service improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement proactive monitoring and alerting strategies.
- Provide technical coaching to address systemic skills gaps and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3 years of hands-on DevOps experience (e.g. Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) in enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code for cloud platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Windows systems and automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Ability to manage incidents and collaborate effectively with technical teams and service partners.
