Join our Finance & Advice team as an Assistant Financial Control Accountant in Sydney.
We’re hiring for one permanent full-time role and one full-time contract role until June 2026.
Be part of a team that ensures strong financial processes and controls across the business. In this role, you’ll support month-end close procedures, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare monthly journals and identify opportunities for process standardisation and improvement.
- Oversee reconciliations and journals, ensuring accuracy and timely completion according to guidelines.
- Escalate high-risk issues promptly to senior team members.
- Support statutory, regulatory, and management reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet month-end deliverables.
- Review Reconciliation Control reports and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Assist with audit activities and liaise with external and internal auditors as required.
- Support payment authorisations in line with the Delegated Authority Policy.
- Drive innovation, process simplification, and automation initiatives.
- Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to a supportive, high-performing team environment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Recognised degree in Accounting (desired).
- CA or CPA accreditation (or working towards) preferred.
- 2+ years’ accounting experience, ideally with General Ledger, regulatory, and financial reporting in large, computerised systems.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and numeracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and Word.
- Experience with Oracle or similar general ledger systems preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, maintain confidentiality, and meet critical deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative approach and a keen interest in learning and sharing knowledge.
