Job description:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic professional looking to complete their speciality training working in a senior role, while supporting Registrars and Resident Medical Officers. This position will be best suited to a Level 5 or 6 trainee.

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic professional looking to complete their speciality training working in a senior role, while supporting Registrars and Resident Medical Officers. This position will be best suited to a Level 5 or 6 trainee.

This accredited senior registrar position will offer excellent experience in tertiary level antenatal and intrapartum care including ultrasound and labour ward management. The training in general gynaecology unit will allow the successful applicant to consolidate their surgical skills including laparoscopic surgery, prior to entering specialist practice. 

This is an exceptional and unique opportunity that will enable the successful applicant to gain all the skills they will require to enter specialist practice on completion of this appointment.

 

Salary

$131,000 - $183,500 per annum

Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time day work, 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time) commencing 3 February 2025 until 2 February 2026.

Essential Requirements

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.  The following checks are to be conducted:

1.  Conviction checks in the following areas:

a)  Crimes of Violence

b)  Sex Related Offences

c)  Serious Drug Offences

d)  Crimes involving dishonesty

2.  Identification check

3.  Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

  • Successful completion of RANZCOG examination
