Lehigh University Athletics is seeking an exceptional individual for the position of Assistant Coach/Sports Performance Assistant. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the development of our Division I student-athletes, both on and off the field.
In this dual-role position, you will work closely with the Director of Sports Performance and the Director of Leadership Development, providing high-level strength and conditioning expertise while also delivering impactful leadership education and mentoring. Your primary focus will be on supporting the holistic growth and development of our student-athletes, ensuring they reach their full potential not only in their respective sports but also as well-rounded individuals.

This position is a Grade: 7 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $39,080-$46,910 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Design and lead evidence-based strength, speed, and conditioning programs for assigned teams, providing hands-on coaching to ensure proper techniques and maximize performance.
• Collaborate and Monitor Athlete Development: Work closely with coaches, trainers, and staff to align strategies with team goals, monitor athlete progress, and adapt training plans as needed.
• Promote Holistic Athlete Growth: Educate student-athletes on nutrition, recovery, and leadership; support lifestyle workshops; and foster a culture of accountability and personal development.
• Design and Facilitate Leadership Programs: Co-develop and lead Flight 45 Leadership content, workshops, and experiential learning sessions focused on self-awareness, team dynamics, and service.
• Support and Mentor Student-Athletes: Advise student-athlete engagement groups, mentor individuals and peer educators, and serve as a leadership resource across teams.
• Evaluate and Collaborate for Holistic Growth: Assess program effectiveness through data and feedback, and work with coaches and staff to align leadership initiatives with broader student-athlete development goals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree in Education, Human Performance, Exercise Science, Physiology, or Psychology preferred
• One to three years related work experience
• Must have or be willing to acquire Strength Training Certification, NCAA recruiting Certification and CPR/First Aid certification
• Valid Driver’s License required and good driving record
