We’re looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our Auckland-based Pricing team. In this role, you’ll provide analytical and technical support to deliver pricing insights that inform better business decisions. You’ll work closely with leaders, analysts and stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities, solve complex problems and continuously improve how we price our products.
What you’ll do
- Provide pricing analysis, reporting and insights to support business decision-making
- Assist in identifying and defining pricing and business opportunities to be solved
- Apply appropriate analytical, statistical and modelling techniques to address business problems
- Analyse data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating insights into clear recommendations
- Communicate the outcomes of analyses in a clear, practical way to a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work collaboratively within the pricing team and across the wider business, including Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Operations and Distribution
- Support leaders by contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture and sharing knowledge with others
- Identify opportunities for simplification and continuous improvement, and take ownership of implementing improvements
- Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within tight timeframes
- Actively demonstrate Suncorp’s values and behaviours, including speaking up on behalf of customers and supporting the wellbeing of others
What you’ll bring
- Strong analytical aptitude, supported by relevant tertiary education in statistics, mathematics, actuarial studies, economics or a related field
- Progress toward actuarial qualifications (IAAust or equivalent) and/or relevant statistical training (desirable)
- Previous experience in an actuarial, pricing, analytics or statistical role (desirable)
- Exposure to general insurance pricing, geospatial analysis and/or data engineering (advantageous)
- Well-developed problem-solving and modelling skills, with the ability to select appropriate analytical techniques
- Experience working with data and analytical tools such as spreadsheets, databases, R, Python and/or SQL
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly
- A collaborative, team-focused mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and support others’ development
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Curiosity, resilience and a continuous improvement mindset
