About the role
The Technical Lead – Duck Creek Billing provides technical leadership and expertise across the analysis, design, development, maintenance and ongoing support of the Duck Creek insurance application, with a key focus on Duck Creek Billing. This role will guide technical solution design for business initiatives and support delivery through to deployment.
The preferred candidate must have hands‑on experience with Duck Creek Billing module.
What you'll do
- Lead the technical delivery and development of integrations between Duck Creek and other enterprise systems
- Collaborate with functional teams to define and refine technical requirements
- Work closely with the project manager and functional leads to ensure technical direction aligns with Suncorp’s strategy
- Lead the Duck Creek Applications Team—including Testing, DevOps, and Release Management
- Partner with Duck Creek Architecture to shape, implement, and maintain the overall architecture
- Provide leadership to developers, designers, and architects to ensure configurations and custom components meet application requirements
What you'll bring
- 8+ years of Software Engineering experience, including 6+ years working with Duck Creek
- Proven Duck Creek Configuration Lead experience with specialisation in the Billing module
- 2+ years of technical design experience, including work on complex modules such as ratings, transactions, and business workflows
- Hands‑on experience implementing the Duck Creek Billing Platform
- Strong understanding of Personal, Injury, and Commercial Insurance products (highly desirable)
- Expertise in Inheritance Model Structure Design / Manuscript design, including alignment, conformance, and ongoing maintenance
- Experience with HTML, ASP, and XML (preferred)
